How To Make Money With Wordpress In 48 Hours

So, you're wondering how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours? No problem, I'll tell you! :-).

I've read some other posts which say it's not possible to make money this fast online, and I've just watched this YouTube video which states that it can be done but only a dollar or two. Hmm…

The young guy in the video you may have seen, states that "an easy way" to make "one or two dollars" via WordPress is from running Google Ads, and then goes on to state that you'll need about a thousand visitors to make about one dollar.

How is this an "easy way" to make money with a wordpress blog, if you need a thousand visitors to make a dollar, and how is anyone going to get thousand visitors for less than a dollar?

If you use paid methods to generate traffic, the cost of a thousand visitors is going to significantly more than a dollar, so I can only see losses here.

I'm not saying $1 per thousand visitors is an accurate guesstimate, it's very difficult to predict the profit you'll make running Google ads, per 1000 visitors. But from experience, for more general blogs that aren't focused on very high cost terms, $1 per 1000 isn't a bad prediction.

But I'm guessing you don't want to make a dollar or two…

I'm going to assume that you're not just thinking about making a dollar or two within 48 hours (what are you going to do with a couple of dollars?) but that you're talking about a fairly significant sum?

It can be done, and it's actually fairly simple.

Note, that I said simple, not easy…

The way that this would be done, is one simple world: Funnels.

If you're not sure what funnels are, I highly recommend that you read Russel Brunson's free book the funnel hackers cookbook.

But in brief, a funnel is the journey that your visitors go through from visitor to customer.

Funnel visuals have been used for years, going back to old traditional sales, which is a good example to use.

For example, using old fashioned sales, the very top of the funnel may be cold prospects who filled in a form to get more information from a newspaper advert, this would be the entry to the funnel, so 100%.

The next step of this traditional sales funnel may be an outbound sales call to book a telephone consultation, not everyone will be reachable, so let's say 70% of people reach this next step in the funnel.

Next, the actual telephone consultation, perhaps, then a quotation sent, then a sales rep visits to meet the client and close the deal.

Obviously it depends on the product or service, the industry, and how that particular company does it – but this is just to paint a picture of how funnels work.

The point is that at each step, people drop out, which is where the funnel shape comes into it, and why we call it a funnel, and the very smallest part at the bottom, is the sale.

When you look at it that way, all websites are funnels, but most are very ineffective funnels, which often result in losses rather than profits.

When we're talking about online marketing sales funnels, the funnel shape is similar, but we use some really clever strategies. Instead of a straight funnel from one entry point to one end point, we introduce other funnel steps with the goal of resulting in better conversion rates and higher profits.

How Russel Brunson, founder of the hugely successful clickfunnels, stumbled upon funnels early into his career as a web marketer, is a good example of the power of modern sales funnels when done properly.

Russel describes in some of his videos, how he'd heard a quote from Dan Kennedy "whoever can spend the most money to acquire a customer wins", and hadn't initially quite got it.

Russel had a more traditional single step sales funnel, to sell an ebook on how to make potato guns. It was a single sales page, with a single outcome, buy his DVD. So it was a funnel, but a more traditional straight funnel, and it was a profitable funnel while he could buy the traffic really cheap, but as soon as his traffic cost increased, this funnel (a more standard website) began to make losses.

He was buying his traffic via Google ads, and to begin with, he was spending $10 per day and averaging one sale per day of his $37 DVD.

This worked for a while, until the cost per click of Google ads began to increase, and all of a sudden he found that instead of paying $10 per day to make one sale, he was paying $50 per day to make that same single sale at $37, and losing $13 per day on average.

He stopped the ads, and he thought that was the end of his web marketing business, until he spoke to a friend a few months later, who told him he thought he'd found the secret to making money online.

His friend told him that what he'd discovered, was upsells.

His friend used McDonald's as the example, that McDonald's don't make any money when they sell you a burger, they actually make a loss when the total cost of sale is calculated, but by training their staff to say the simple phrase "would you like fries and a coke with that" or "would you like the meal" they were able to upsell a very good % of customers to a purchase which made them a profit.

So he thought about what someone buying a potato gun DVD might be interested in buying at the same time, and the obvious idea was a potato gun kit with all of the bits required to make the potato gun. He found someone who was selling the kits, made a deal with them, and added the upsell.

Instantly, his business was profitable once again. He was still having to pay $50 per day to make one sale of his DVD at $37, but one in three on average purchased the potato gun kit at $197, which meant on average an extra $65 for every DVD sold.

So now he was spending $50 per day to make $102 per day, and once again he had a profitable business. He now understood Dan Kennedy's saying, as he was making a profit on every dollar he spend on traffic, so he could scale it up and out market his customers – because he had a funnel which was profitable with paid traffic, and paid traffic is the easiest way to quickly upscale.

He also says that he came to realize at this point, that websites made him broke, and funnels made him money. I think a more accurate description would be that traditional sales funnels made him broke, while he discovered that more sophisticated, more effective funnels, made him money.

What he did with this new found knowledge, is he went into all kinds of different competitive markets, setting up businesses & overtaking the competition, by using modern sales funnels to allow him to spend more money on acquiring the customer.

In other words, if the competitors in a particular market don't have an effective sales funnel which enables them to spend as much on acquiring each new customer, as he can, then he can acquire more customers than the competition.

Given the fact Russel Brunson's firm clickfunnels has done sales of over a billion dollars so far, and is now worth close to $400 million, I think it's safe to say Russel is someone worth listening to.

You might get the impression from this example, that funnels means upsells, and that's not quite correct. There are lots of different types of funnels with different funnel steps, but an upsell is a very common part of an effective funnel.

Whatever the funnel is, the goal is to be profitable – meaning you can scale up. If you can set up a funnel which produces $100 profit on average from every $50 or less that you spend on traffic, then you have something you can scale up in order to grow your business.

Once you achieve this, you can out market your competition – you can spend more than any competition who doesn't have the same profitable funnel.

So how do you make money within 48 hours with wordpress, with funnels?

In short, if you want to make money within 48 hours with wordpress, what you need is a VERY effective funnel, and a significant enough source of traffic.

Let's be honest, you're not going to do this with a standard wordpress blog.

I love blogging, it's what I do, but it's not a 2 day thing, it's a longer game, it's about building followers who'll read your content and follow your links, it takes time to grow followers. You're very unlikely to make significant money from your first blog post within a couple of days.

If you want to make money quickly online, you need to set up a very effective funnel, and you need a great source of traffic, and the honest truth is you probably won't be able to do it.

48 hours is just not a lot of time, it's a huge ask to be able to make any significant amount of money in this kind of time frame.

The reason I've focused on this time frame for this post, is that there are many people searching for the phrase " how to make money with wordpress in 48 Hours ", and like I say, it is possible, but most people just won't be able to tap into a big enough source of traffic, or to setup an effective enough funnel within this kind of a time frame.

Getting a large quantity of people to a landing page in a short space of time, and converting those people into high ticket sales, may be simple, but isn't easy, as I said earlier. You need an effective funnel, a great product, a brilliant offer, something people really want – and don't forget, you need that source of traffic too.

I nearly did this….

How I nearly made significant money online within 48 hours

Years ago, I convinced the successful web marketer Mike Filsame, to do a JV with me. He emailed his huge list about my offer, and I had a high ticket product.

Remember I said you need the source of traffic – 'tick' (Mike F has a huge list, so this part was sorted).

But where I fell down, is I didn't have an effective funnel (it was a single sales page for the main product), and I didn't have a strong offer, and something that this particular market really needed (a product which clearly solved a problem for them) I thought I did, I was wrong.

I had a lot to learn, and making this error was part of the learning process. I now know that if I'd have done things differently then with that JV, based on the stuff I've learned in the meantime, I could have made upwards of $20,000 from that single JV, and gone on from this, to make a lot more – but that is hindsight for you!

And this is the challenge, you don't JUST need to find a joint venture partner with a HUGE enough list to provide the traffic, you need an effective funnel, and you need to provide a compelling enough offer to ensure the conversion at the required margin.

Is a JV with someone with a big list the only way to get the traffic?

No, but if you're wanting to do things quick, i.e. within 48 hours, you'll need to generate traffic fast. If you don't have a list yourself, then you'll either need to partner with someone who does & offer them a commission, or you'll need to buy the traffic.

You could buy the traffic, using Facebook Ads or Google ads for instance, but if you're not experienced with either, it's a tall order to be able to expect you to nail it straight away & start making a profit from paid traffic within a couple of days.

Making money blogging.

If you were searching for info on making money fast with wordpress, because you want to make money blogging, and you want to start making money fast, then I would encourage you to approach things differently.

Blogging is a BRILLIANT way to make money, without a doubt, but if you have a brand new blog, or if you've not even created your blog yet, making money in 48 hours isn't really a practical expectation.

You CAN certainly make money blogging, I do, and many other people do, but it's not something that happens over night. You can get a blog set up in under 48 hours, sure – it's actually really simple and straight forward to do – but to make money with a blog means building your audience, connecting with that audience, and converting readers into "followers". Regardless of how you make money with your blog, making money comes down to converting readers into followers, who are interested enough in what you have to say, to read lots of your content, and who trust you enough to follow your links, whether this is links to your own products, affiliate products, or ads within your content.
